This Chair Took Adam Savage Two Years To Make!
Adam Savage spent nearly two years customizing the iconic Emeco 1006 Navy chair—originally built for WWII—by meticulously drilling thousands of holes to see how much weight he could shave off. What started as a simple tinkering project morphed into a surprisingly complicated exercise in hole patterns, tooling and patience.
Along the way he documented the entire process (shot by himself and edited by Josh Self, with tunes from Jinglepunks), giving fans a fresh perspective on industrial design, relentless curiosity, and the art of DIY perseverance.
