Adam Savage spent almost two years turning an Emeco 1006 Navy Chair into a Swiss-cheese sculpture, drilling thousands of holes in its welded aluminum frame to see how much lighter he could make it. What started as a simple mod quickly became a mind-bending exercise in pattern layout, tooling challenges and structural integrity—definitely not for the faint of heart (or those with trypophobia).
